Venetian, Roman & Honeycomb Blinds Measuring Guide

Learn how to measure blinds with confidence with our simple step-by-step guide for venetian, roman and honeycomb blinds

Before you read on on how to measure blinds: you must first decide whether they will be on the inside (recess), or outside (face) of your window frame.

Measuring for Recess (Inside) Fit

Step 1: Measure the tight inside width across the top, middle and bottom of the window. Write down the smallest measurement

Step 2: Measure the tight inside length down the left, middle and right sides or the window. Write down the smallest measurement

*Please Note:

  • If you are measuring for a custom made blind: DO NOT make any adjustments to your measurements. The factory will make any necessary deductions for you.
  • Windows are not always square. Therefore, there may be small variations in the clearance gaps, as blinds are always made square.

Measuring for Face (Outside) Fit

Step 1: Measure across the outside of the frame at the top, middle and the bottom, as some windows can be uneven. Use the widest width to ensure the blind covers the whole frame

Step 2: Measure the length from the top of the frame to 2cm (20mm) below the frame to ensure the blind covers the whole frame. If there is no room under the frame, only measure to the bottom of the frame

*Please Note:

  • If you are measuring for a custom made blind: DO NOT make any adjustments to your measurements. The factory will make any necessary deductions for you.
  • Windows are not always square.  Therefore, there may be small variations in the clearance gaps, as blinds are always made square.
