Roller Blinds Measuring Guide

Measure blinds with confidence with our step-by-step measuring guide for roller blinds.

Before you start:  When you measure blinds, you must first decide whether they will be on the inside (recess), or outside (face) of your window frame.

Measuring for Recess (Inside) Fit

Step 1: Measure the exact width inside the window frame across the top, where the brackets will go

Step 2: Measure the exact inside length of the window from the middle point of the inside of the architrave

*Please Note:

  • If you are measuring for a custom made blind: DO NOT make any adjustments to your measurements. The factory will make any necessary deductions for you.
  • Windows are not always square. Therefore, there may be small variations in the clearance gaps, as blinds are always made square.

Measuring for Face (Outside) Fit

Step 1: Measure the exact width you wish to cover. If you are fitting the blind on the architrave, measure across the outside of the frame at the top of the window, from edge to edge. If your window has no architrave and you are fitting the blind on the wall, simply measure from the point where you would like the blinds to sit. We recommend approx. 7cm (70mm) of flat space around the edge of the window

Step 2: Then measure the length from the top of the frame to the bottom of the frame. Or if the blind is being fitted to the wall, measure from the point you would like the blinds to sit (see above recommendation)

*Please Note:

  • If you are measuring for a custom made blind: DO NOT make any adjustments to your measurements. The factory will make any necessary deduction for you.
  • Windows are not always square. Therefore, there may be small variations in the clearance gaps, as blinds are always made square.
